Friday night saw another four tight, competitive games and as predicted, the standard has risen noticeably as the players get familiar with the game. We were treated to many instances of individual brilliance but most noticeable was the improvement in team play, with players passing and moving in support of each other. They truly are a fantastic bunch of talented, intelligent players.
Next week sees the final round-robin pool games and it is still possible for every team to win their respective pool – just two points separate first and fourth in Pool 1, and all four teams in Pool 2 are level on 4 points.
Remember, final pool placings after next week’s games decide the pairings for the play-off games. The winners of the play-off games will go on to contest the Cup and the losers will contest the Shield.
