U-14s win by a point

THE club’s U-14 team had a point to spare (4-11 to 5-7) in a thrilling county U-14 group 4 championship fixture at Flanagan Park, Ballinrobe recently.
Although the locals made an early impact, four goals left Balla clear by five points at the interval and that advantage was extended further in the opening minutes of the second half. Ballinrobe, however, responded resolutely and were marginally ahead at the finish.
The victors, who have now qualified for the group final, were splendidly served by Edward Sweeney, Pierce Jennings, Peter Butler, Mikal Kowalkowski, Peter Walsh, Séan Óg Collins and Josh Hughes.
Meanwhile, the U-16s beat Ardnaree by 5-10 to 2-11 in the County U-16 Football Championship at Flanagan Park.
