Corofin defeated Ballintubber in the final of the under 12 football tournament, held in Flanagan Park, Ballinrobe, on Saturday, in conjunction with the Queen of the Lakes festival.

Declan O’Loughlin presented the winners with the Christy O’Loughlin Memorial Cup and Stephen Rochford, the Corofin senior football manager who lives in Ballinrobe and is a member of the local club, presented the medals.

Clare native Christy O’Loughlin, who died in 2012, had a lengthy and active association with Ballinrobe GAA club. Ballinrobe and Parke-Keelogues-Crimlin also competed in the tournament and The Andy Merrigan Cup, won by Corofin, All-Ireland senior club champions earlier this year, was on display.

Ballinrobe Bord na nOg is very appreciative of the support received from Monica Horan and the parents who looked after the catering arrangements on the day.
