AUDIO: @MayoGAA SFC match report v @NaStiofanaigh by Junior Reporter Matthew McCormack (9)

Matthew McCormack, Cloongowla, a member of our club’s U10 boys team, was our Junior Reporter for today’s Treanlaur Catering Mayo SFC clash with Ballina Stephenites at Flanagan Park. [audio:http://ballinrobegaaclub.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Matthew2-report-ballina.mp3] He helped Tom Carney and his commentary team of Tom Maughan (Ballina Stephenites) and Liam Horan (Ballinrobe) with some stats and even gave his view at half-time. Somewhat presciently, he predicted a Ballina Stephenites comeback at that stage – and his prophecy proved all too accurate, alas as they rallied to beat us by two points in a closely-contested encounter. Matthew is interested in sports journalism and as you will discover when you listen to his match report here, he’s a dab hand at it. The young members of the club had a big part to play today – Eva Gallagher, also 9, and a member of the club’s U10 ladies football team, delivered a beautiful rendition of the national anthem. Matthew and Eva both showed big day temperament today. Well done to the two of them. You can listen to Tom Carney’s full commentary on the game HERE

A massive “Thank you” to Oran and once again congratulations to all involved in Ballinrobe Community School. We wish you all the very best with exams, Clubs and County involvement in 2017. The large crowd in attendance were treated to four highly competitive matches with very little to separate the teams. Congratulations to all players involved. U10 Boys Training returns outdoors this week and will take place on Tuesday and Friday evenings at 6.45pm to 8pm in Flanagan Park. Thanks to our Parents for ensuring the boys kept to their match schedules and who came out week on week to support the boys and to John F and staff at the Lakeside for hosting us once again. A special mention to each team coach who helped throughout the six weeks and as always Des May and Padraic Delaney, U10 Coaches for organising and running the league. A video and some photos from the night               They came down eventually !!!

St Patrick’s Day Parade

By Annette Conway, PRO Robe Rockets Thank you to our Robe Rockets, Parents and Coaches who braved the weather for the St Patrick’s day parade. An enjoyable and dry afternoon allowed us to follow our Rocket around town accompanied by a drum and a chorus of whistles. If we could have bottled the noise from the whistles the rocket would have taken off!!! We even made the RTE Six One News as part of the Ballinrobe Parade coverage. A big well done to the organisers of the Ballinrobe parade. Here are a few memories from the day.    We have many more photos from the parade. If you wish you can email us ballinroberoberockets@gmail.com and we will send you on the link. Some Videos below also:     Finally the famous news coverage 🙂 Copyright of RTE NEWS.
