Celebration Day for our girls footballers

This year, Ballinrobe GAA club has created a girls football wing for the first time in a number of years – and this Saturday (September 27th) we will celebrate it with a special family-oriented get-together in Flanagan Park. Celebration Day will start at 9.30am, and all family members are invited along to mark a busy year of Saturday morning training for the girls. There will be a number of novelty events, and refreshments, so make sure to bring along the cameras to capture the special moments. The girls will showcase the football skills they have learned throughout the year. The club is looking into the possibility of putting a team into competitions in the coming year. For now, though, the emphasis this Saturday is on fun: be there at 9.30am to join in. Parents wishing to help out are also asked to come along, and it is hoped that club members of all ages will come along to celebrate with the girls.

It was held at the Connacht Centre of Excellence in Bekan. Well done too to coaches Kevin Gilrane, Michael Jennings, Adrian Flannery and Alan Flannery. To select this team, the club held local trials, where the standard was exceptionally high. We are on the right road. Connacht final takes place in a fortnight.
