U12 ladies football training continues next Saturday

We had another encouraging turn-out for our ladies football training on Saturday last. Girls from as young as five, and up to the age of 12, turned up, as did a large number of coaches and parents. It will continue next Saturday at 9.30am in Lakeside Sports & Fitness Centre. All are welcome. Please tell your friends. A fee of €1 per child is charged to cover the cost of hiring the venue.

Winner makes a generous donation Mission: Slimpossible!

UPDATE, FRIDAY, MARCH 28: The winner, Jason Coyne, has kindly offered to donate €100 of his prize money to the Friends of Grace charity. A lovely gesture, well done, Jason. THURSDAY, MARCH 27: Jason Coyne, Cloughbrack, Clonbur, Co. Galway, was the winner of the €300 cash prize for correctly predicting the 1-2-3 in the recent Mission: Slimpossible! competition. The 1-2-3 was Ballinrobe Town AFC, Ballinrobe RFC and Ballinrobe GAA. The draw was made at tonight’s final meeting of the Steering Committee. The man who pulled the ticket was publican Martin Costello, who hosted the meetings of the Steering Committee over the last few months. The winning ticket was sold by Michael O’Connor, Cahernagolum, The Neale, a member of the victorious Ballinrobe Town AFC team in Mission: Slimpossible! A word of thanks to all who supported the event and the associated charity Friends of Grace. Ladies football training on March 22nd @radiomidwest, @mayogaa, @ladiesfootball

The effort to form a ladies football team in Ballinrobe will continue apace on Saturday, March 22nd, when a training session will be held at Lakeside Sports & Fitness Centre, for girls under the age of 12. This follows a recent meeting at which the possibility of establishing a club was discussed. This indoor session will introduce girls to the skills of ladies football and it is hoped it will be the precursor to a club being formed in the near future.
