U12/13 Ladies Pella Final Countdown

Well that five weeks flew by, it has been great to see how well the girls have adapted to Pella in such a short period of time. What is most encouraging from their coaches point of view is to see that the players continue to practice in between games – well done – that is the best way to develop your skills. Thanks to our TY coaches who have been great  advising, supporting and encouraging the players. So the final pairings have been decided and I would encourage all parents, grandparents, siblings and friends to come along and support. Many of these young ladies are playing football for the first time this year and they deserve all the support they can get. Come along you won’t get better entertainment on a Thursday evening. The week 5 games were fiercely competitive but played in a great spirit. Best Kicked Score: Lucy Biggins Best Hand Passed Score : Aoife O Sullivan Best block : Amy Mc Ginty

U10 Pella Week 5 Results

By Annette Conway, PRO Robe Rockets Final week of Pella next Friday with everyone with something to play for. The Cup and Shield final pairings have been decided with the honour and glory up for grabs and the remaining four teams face off in the 3rd/4th play-offs with arguably something of equal significance on the line – bragging rights. It’s always a challenge to pick eight evenly balanced teams but this year has proved very successful in this regard – of the 20 games played to date, 13 have been decided by two or less scores and no team has gone without winning at least one game. Thank you to all the coaches for their time and commitment. Thank you to all the  parents for their support and cooperation – we had  40 boys participating with an attendance over the last five weeks of 96%. Thank you to Lakeside Sports & Fitness and John F in particular. And finally, a huge thank you to the players for the enthusiasm, skill and sportsmanship they brought to every game over the last five weeks. Please note a small change to the schedule from previously – the Shield Final will now take place at 7.00 with the Cup 3rd/4th Playoff kicking off at 6.30. Thanks Des May, U10 Coach Final week schedule

U10 Pella Week 3 Results

By Annette Conway, PRO Robe Rockets The round robin series is completed and the final placings in the pool tables have been used to seed the teams for the cup/shield play-off games next week. The really important point to understand for all the players is that next week every team has an equal chance of making the cup semi-finals regardless of how they placed in the round robin series – win next week and they are in the Cup, lose and they are in the Shield. Have a look at the Result and Schedule Table to determine who your team is playing next week and at what time. Arrive at the Centre 10 minutes before kick-off so your coach can organise the team. Don’t forget mouth guards. And so we enter the business end, the stakes are rising and the tension mounts. Can’t wait for Friday! Please note in the event of a draw, extra time will be played on a ‘golden goal’ basis – the first to score wins, Thanks Des. Some team photos from Friday 4th Nov

U12/13 Ladies Pella Week 3 Results

We had some super games in week 3, with the players new to Pella finding their feet and some great teamwork being displayed. Only goal difference separates the top 3 teams and even though Team F have yet to win a game they put on a great display this week and are improving each week – keep up the great effort everyone. Below is a picture of the cup and trophies which will be presented to the winning captains at the end of the league – many thanks to OBH Kitchens for the sponsorship. Thanks also to our TY students Ellen and Leah who have been brilliant in coaching the teams.  Parents can you please ensure players bring gumshields and try and have the players at Lakeside 10 minutes before the games.
