This week’s club news

At a meeting of Ballinrobe GAA Club’s Executive Committee this week, the following management team was ratified for the club’s senior team: Norman O’Brien, Martin Walsh, Tommy O’Malley, Adrian Flannery, Peter Staunton, Keith McTigue, Micheal Keane and Mark Walkin. The team is back training with large numbers reported. Ballinrobe competed in two competitions – Ballad Group and Solo Singing – at the Mayo Scór na nÓg finals, held in Breaffy. The Ballad Group comprised Aoife Culhane, Sibeal Finnerty, Sarah Quinn, Sorcha Hobson, and Sadbh Culhane. Sorcha and Sibeal both competed in the Solo Singing. Unfortunately, despite acquitting themselves well, they were not successful. The club has expressed thanks to Catriona Canny, NT, who prepared the competitors. In a St Stephen’s Day game between the Over 23s and Under 23s, the younger generation prevailed on a score line off 3-9 to 2-8. Referee was Padraig Costello Snr. The club extended sympathy to the following families on their recent bereavements: O’Brien (Cappacurry), Maloney (Kilvendoney), Madden (Ballycastle), Donovan (Clooncan), Murphy (Kilmaine) Conroy (Kiltane) Kelly (Castlebar), Newell (Partry & Castlebar), Caulfield (Liskillen).
