U10 Boys Pella Cup and Shield Finals

Last night the ‘Martin Flannery Cup’ was presented for the first time to the winners of the U10 Boys Winter Pella League. We would like to thank the Flannery Family for allowing us the privilege to honour a great Club Man. Well done to all our U10 Boys who took part in our Pella Winter League. Over the last 5 weeks we have been treated to wonderful displays of skill, determination, great Team work and all played in good spirits. Our Cup and Shield Finals last night were highly entertaining with only a point separating the Teams in the Shield Final. Congrats to Team A and Ollie Heneghan, Coach who won the Martin Flannery Cup and and Team C and Andy Walsh, Coach who won the Shield. Thanks to all our Coaches for all their encouragement and effort in preparing their teams for Pella. We look forward to 2019 #Thefutureisbright. U10 Pella League

Our U10 Boys Pella starts on Friday 19th October in the Lakeside Sports and Fitness Centre. Please consult team sheet and schedule to determine what time your  son will be playing each week as times will change each week. Each team has been assigned a coach to help to develop players confidence, skills and encourage Team spirit each week. Time: Pella Games will start at 6.30pm  with last match at 8pm. Each Game will last 30 mins so please arrive 10 mins before your match. Price: €10 for the 5 weeks payable on Friday 19th October. Please note there will be NO Match on Friday 26th October. Player drop off and collection: Games must start and finish on time to facilitate the four games in the allotted two hours. Players please arrive 10 minutes before throw in time. After the match players will be ready to be collected 40 minutes later. Changes to viewing area: Please note due to changes in the layout of the Lakeside Gym upstairs the viewing of matches will be restricted as there is a very limited viewing area and NO Children are allowed upstairs.  You can still view the matches in the hall. We thank you  for your cooperation with this matter. If your  son cannot attend, please text David on 0868598144 so that we can arrange a substitute if necessary. Our U8 Girls and Boys Pella starts on Saturday 20th October in the Lakeside Sports and Fitness Centre. Please consult team sheet and schedule to determine what time your daughter or son will be playing each week as times will change each week. Each team has been assigned a coach to help to develop players confidence, skills and encourage Team spirit each week. Time: Pella Games will start at 9am and finish by 11am. Each Game will last 30 mins so please arrive 10 mins before your match. Price: €12 for the 6 weeks payable on Saturday 20th October. Results of U10/12 Street League 2018

Well done to all our U10 and U12 Boys who took part in our first ever Street League. On a sunny Autumn afternoon, 8 teams with 70 boys played nearly 3 hours of football all representing the area they live. We were treated to wonderful displays of skill, Team work, pure determination and we even had extra time in the Cup Final between Mayo and Donegal. We wish to thank all those who helped with the planning, organisation and running of the day both on and off the pitch. On behalf of the Club we would especially like to thank Colm Jennings, Coaching Officer, Des May, U12 Coach and David Conway U10 Coach for making this idea a reality. Congrats to Donegal winners of the Cup and Kildare who won the Plate. U10/12 Street League 2018

Our first ever U10/12 Ballinrobe GAA Street league takes place this Sunday afternoon with local pride to play for. We invite Parents, Club members and supporters to come to Flanagan Park after the Minor League Final to show your support to these youngsters. We have 70 players taking part. All Teams are made up of U10 and U12’s with rules being explained on the day and enforced to ensure its fair to all age groups participating. Each Team will play 3 matches in the Qualifying stages, with all Teams progressing to Semi Final stage of either the Plate or Cup followed by the respective Finals. We hope that each player will enjoy what promises to be a fun filled sporting afternoon. We ask that your son be at the pitch for 2pm for their Team talk as throw in will be 2.30pm sharp, please wear Club gear, dress for the weather and remember the Gumshield and gloves. Each Team has been allocated a County from this years All Ireland Super 8 Teams (we included Mayo at Roscommon’s expense) and have a designated Coach for the afternoon. All games will start and finish on Hooter and we will be operating a silent side line for the Coaches on the day. All games will be 20 minutes, 10 mins per half with a small break in between matches There will be a shop on the day with all money raised going to purchase Pella goals for the Club. U6 Debut Day 2018

Our U6’s had their Debut Day with a match against Castlebar Mitchels earlier this month. Our U6’s were welcomed onto the pitch as is tradition in Rockets by members of the U8 and U10 Rockets with the entrance music to welcome all teams provided by Croke Park, it set the scene of what was a memorable day for these young girls and boys. As a memento of the day each child received a medal to remember the first day they put on the Ballinrobe jersey.   From us all in Robe Rockets we would like to thank the U6 Castlebar Mitchels for being part of our Debut Day. Thanks to all involved, on and off the pitch who made the day run smoothly. U10 Boys South Mayo Fun Blitz

By Annette Conway, PRO Robe Rockets Well done to our U10 Boys who participated in the South Mayo Gaa Fun Blitz in Mac Hale Park today. Great skill, determination and Team work on display throughout and our Coaches even managed to keep silent on the side-line. Thanks to all the Coaches, Parents, Evan O’Brien and Oran O’Malley, from our Senior Team for coming down to encourage the lads. A special mention to Kieran Kilkenny, Mayo Coaching Officer and all in South Mayo GAA who organised a wonderful day #thefutureisbright .

Ballinrobe Cúl Camp 2018

It’s all over for another year as the 2nd week of Cúl Camp concluded. There was a fantastic turnout for both camps with 265 kids participating. A fun filled two weeks was had by all with great skills and talent on display. A big thank you to all involved and to Kevin McLoughlin, Mayo Senior Player who visited both camps. Early signs of the rivalry ahead of Mayo’s 💚❤ U20’s All Ireland Final surfaced as a number of Kildare jerseys were spotted on the last day of camp. Our U9/10/11’s were not too impressed especially with Club and Mayo star Evan O’Brien present. Well done to all.

Cúl Camp Week One

Great fun and activity at Week One of Cúl Camp with 95 kids participating. Special thanks to Kevin McLoughlin, Mayo Senior Player for the visit yesterday, the children were delighted to see him. Lots of skill and talent on display so far and its only Day 3. Roll on more fun for next week in our Second Cúl Camp which is now fully booked.
