Matthew McCormack, Cloongowla, a member of our club’s U10 boys team, was our Junior Reporter for today’s Treanlaur Catering Mayo SFC clash with Ballina Stephenites at Flanagan Park. Somewhat presciently, he predicted a Ballina Stephenites comeback at that stage – and his prophecy proved all too accurate, alas as they rallied to beat us by two points in a closely-contested encounter. Matthew is interested in sports journalism and as you will discover when you listen to his match report here, he’s a dab hand at it. The young members of the club had a big part to play today – Eva Gallagher, also 9, and a member of the club’s U10 ladies football team, delivered a beautiful rendition of the national anthem.
