Tog one, tog all: St Stephen’s Day games will warm, or thin, the blood

Players from aged 10 to God knows what will take part in our St Stephen’s Day games this year. At 11.30am, our rising U12 and U14 stars will take to the field. Try to get up to Flanagan Park early to see them display their considerable talents. And at 12.30pm, old-timers (i.e. anyone over 21) will take on our current U21 team, the Mayo C champions who, rumour has it, have been bigging it up around town since their county final victory. Kevin Quinn has been sponsored new wheels. Ronan O’Reilly has been to Roundy to get “The ROR Roar” cut into his left temple. Another un-named player has got 9 new tats to mark the county final victory. Time to bring them down to size? Can you afford to miss this? See you there. It might even be streamed on Club Radio: http://ballinrobegaaclub.com/category/audios/ Who’s reffing it? Will we even need a ref?

U12/13 Ladies Pella Final

We had a great turnout to watch our last games and what great finals we had to finish off our football for 2016. The games were very competitive but played in a great spirit and all the girls were rightly proud of the way they played. There are lots of people to thanks, firstly thanks to OBH Kitchens for sponsorship of the cups for the winning teams. Thanks to John F and all at Lakeside for facilitating the running of the league and for providing a goodie bag for all the players after the finals. Thanks to Ellen, Leah and Mary our TY coaches – they have always encouraged and supported the players and are a great example to the girls. Thanks to parents who got the girls to the matches, we had a great turnout for all the games this year. And lastly thanks to the 32 the players, many of whom have just started playing football for the first time this year. Their skills, enthusiasm and sportsmanship have made it a very enjoyable six weeks. There were many highlights from the finals but these stood out. Kicked scores – Lara Philbin & Maria Macken Best Block – Moya O Connell & Sinead O Sullivan Best hand passed score – Maeve Feerick & Magdalena Burakiewicz A few photos from the Final

€50 reward for our club – AIB/GAA Home Insurance Offer

From AIB, who are main GAA sponsors nationally. AIB/GAA Home Insurance Offer We want to take this opportunity to explain how customers nominate their Club for the €50 reward. How customers nominate their GAA club for €50 Reward After purchasing their new policy, the customer must complete the ‘Reward my Club’ form online atwww.aib.ie/gaainsurance. On the form the customer nominates their GAA club They will also need to submit their policy number Payments to clubs will be made after the policy has been in place for 3 months and payments will begin in March 2017. Customers should nominate their club as soon as possible after purchase, as despite best intentions the longer people wait to nominate their club the less likely they will be to actually do it. As soon as customers have their policy number they can complete the form – you don’t need to wait until the Policy has been in place 3 months. Ladies GAA Clubs/ Ladies Camogie Clubs There have also been some queries with regard to Ladies GAA Football clubs and Ladies Camogie clubs and whether we can extend our GAA Club Home insurance offer to include them.  Unfortunately we do not have a formal partnership with the LGFA and as a result we cannot include ladies football clubs into this offer

U12/13 Ladies Pella Final Countdown

Well that five weeks flew by, it has been great to see how well the girls have adapted to Pella in such a short period of time. What is most encouraging from their coaches point of view is to see that the players continue to practice in between games – well done – that is the best way to develop your skills. Thanks to our TY coaches who have been great  advising, supporting and encouraging the players. So the final pairings have been decided and I would encourage all parents, grandparents, siblings and friends to come along and support. Many of these young ladies are playing football for the first time this year and they deserve all the support they can get. Come along you won’t get better entertainment on a Thursday evening. The week 5 games were fiercely competitive but played in a great spirit. Best Kicked Score: Lucy Biggins Best Hand Passed Score : Aoife O Sullivan Best block : Amy Mc Ginty

U10 Pella Week 3 Results

By Annette Conway, PRO Robe Rockets The round robin series is completed and the final placings in the pool tables have been used to seed the teams for the cup/shield play-off games next week. The really important point to understand for all the players is that next week every team has an equal chance of making the cup semi-finals regardless of how they placed in the round robin series – win next week and they are in the Cup, lose and they are in the Shield. Have a look at the Result and Schedule Table to determine who your team is playing next week and at what time. Arrive at the Centre 10 minutes before kick-off so your coach can organise the team. Don’t forget mouth guards. And so we enter the business end, the stakes are rising and the tension mounts. Can’t wait for Friday! Please note in the event of a draw, extra time will be played on a ‘golden goal’ basis – the first to score wins, Thanks Des. Some team photos from Friday 4th Nov

Below is a picture of the cup and trophies which will be presented to the winning captains at the end of the league – many thanks to OBH Kitchens for the sponsorship.
