Our U11s played their first league game against the Neale yesterday. They all played very well against a good Neale side. Well done to our U13 teams who recently finished their league campaign. This group is made up of U13 players and their players last year U12s and will form next years U14 team. We managed to field two teams, many thanks to their coaches – fielding two teams is a lot more work but helps our lads to develop into better players in the long run. Thanks also to parents for ensuring players get to training and matches.

Our U16 team defeated Hollymount/Carramore in the South B Final this evening in Kilmaine. This is their second final win as they won the County Championship E final last month. The club are holding a Family Fun Run/Jog/Walk on Sunday 10th September @ 2pm. Registration will take place from 1pm at JMS motors on the Ballyglass Road on the day of the event. We have now over 330 registered juvenile members and any monies raised will go towards the development of our underage structures within the club. With this in mind we chose this fun run as a way of involving as many people as possible in a healthy activity while raising funds for the juvenile section of the club. It is hoped that runners and walkers of all levels will participate. We would ask those taking part to please obey the marshals and rules of the road at all times. Could those driving to the event please park in one of the car parks in town to avoid causing hazzards along the route. The route for the event is starting at the top of the Ballyglass road, continue on past Church view estate, Carnalecka turn right, Clongowla turn right and keep on Congowla road (Bog Road) until the finish line in Abbey Street.

Best wishes to Ewan Duffy, our U16 Captain who is part of the U16 Mayo South and West team who compete in the Ted Webb Cup this Wednesday and Saturday.
For the third year the club will be hosting a U12 Blitz on Thursday 24th August @ 6:30pm to 8:30pm in Ballinrobe. Four teams will compete for the Christy O’Loughlin Cup, with all teams playing each other with a third/fourth place playoff and overall final. The teams participating are Ballinrobe Mayo Gaels Carras The Neale Please come along there will be some great young talent on show and sure to be some very exciting games. Parents are asked to contribute some small items so that we can provide refreshments to visiting players and supporters.

By Declan O Loughlin Bord na nOg Our U12 boys ventured out of Mayo to take part The Tommy Keenan cup in Dunmore on Tuesday evening 8th of August. Four teams took part Dunmore MacHales, Ballinrobe, Cortoon Shamrocks and Milltown. On a beautiful evening our U12s played four games and played some of their best football of the year so far. They reached the final and lost narrowly to MacHales in what was a thrilling match. Well done to the coaches and players.
