At tonight’s Executive Committee meeting, Alan Flannery was appointed as Club Designated Person, as per Croke Park guideline. This is part of child protection within our club. Our joint children’s officers are Dermot Keane and Eimear Grimes.

The following team managements have been appointed by Bord na nOg for 2013: U8 – Alan Flannery, Des May, Brian Golden, Marie O’Haire, Padraig Delaney, John Burke U10 – John Gilrane, John Sweeney, Jacko Connolly, Martin O’Connor, John Culhane U12 – Kevin Gilrane, Dermot Keane, Norman O’Brien U14 – Padraig Horan, Fergal O’Malley U16 – Declan Corcoran, Pat Kennedy, James Butler Minor – Tom Carney, David Walsh, Colin Hughes.

Ballinrobe GAA club Bord na nOg will – as always – take part in the town’s St Patrick’s Day Parade. We will have players up to the age of 12 flying the club colours – jerseys, socks, togs, flags, tops, the lot. All players wishing to take part should turn up at the parade convening point in their club gear. That’s 3pm at the Crann Mor Centre, Neale Road. The parade rolls off at 3.30pm. John Sweeney (Bord na nOg chairman) is our main club organiser on the day.

Training this evening (Thursday) for the U12s is in Lakeside Sports & Fitness Centre at 6.30. Please bring your runners (i.e. the shoes, not the type of player!)

A very well attended Bord Na nÓg Presentation night was held last Friday in Ballinrobe Community School, writes Bord na nOg secretary Tom Carney. John Sweeney, Chairman, welcomed all the players and their families, congratulated all that participated in 2012 and looked forward to an even more fulfilling 2013. John thanked Kozzys Barbers, Cummins Super Valu, Tom Treacys Pharmacy and JJ Burkes for their continued sponsorship of our underage teams. Senior players Sean Grimes, Mark Walkin, Ronan Macken, David Killeen and James Quinn presented our U8-U12 with their medals and the following individual awards: U14 – Padraig Og Horan                  Player of Year John Edna Flannelly              Most Committed U16 – Patrick Daly                          Player of Year Conor Burke                         Most Committed U18 – James Quinn                          Player of Year Stephen Burke                      Most Committed Hall of Fame winner for 2012 was presented by Alan Flannery, Club Chairman, to former player, former chairman and current U10 coach John Gilrane. Alan thanked John for his dedication the Club and to training our underage players. A reminder of the 2012 Debut Day was shown and refreshments were served afterwards.
