U12: Grading League Group 3 Match 2

By Ann Cannon, PRO, Ladies Football The U12 ladies played their first away match against Carnacon on Friday 1st April. Again we had another great turnout with 19 players all of whom had game time. The ladies again displayed tremendous skills and courage  in very mucky conditions. Even though we lost narrowly in the end our young ladies continue to learn and with each game are becoming more used to competitive games. Thanks to all the parents and the ladies themselves for showing up to training and matches.    Training is again on this evening, April 6th from 6pm to 7pm This coming Friday April 8th our next league match is at home at 6pm against the Neale. Please make sure to arrive in plenty of time to tog out and be on the pitch for warm up before the game. Please note that it is the policy of Ballinrobe GAA Club to have all children dropped off and picked up at the dressing rooms for both outdoor training and matches.  This is to ensure the safety of all our players. Children are not permitted to walk to car park on their own. As always, gumshields are mandatory.  Also, players cannot wear jewellery or hair slides.

U12: Grading League Group 3 Match 1

By Ann Cannon, PRO, Ladies Football On Monday, 28th April, at Flanagan Park, Ballinrobe, our U12 Ladies played their first League game. It was a wonderful achievement by the club, its coaches, parents and the girls themselves to see Ballinrobe back participating in a Ladies League again.  We had 21 players tog out for the match. The girls played with great skill and determination and even if the result didn’t go our way, each and every player can be proud of their contribution. This Friday, 1st April, sees match two, away to Carnacon.  Meeting at Flanagan Park at 5:10pm. Please note that it is the policy of Ballinrobe GAA Club to have all children dropped off and picked up at the dressing rooms for both outdoor training and matches.  This is to ensure the safety of all our players. Ladies U12/U13 Pella Week 5 Results

By Ann Cannon, PRO, Ladies Football   Well we’ve come to the end of our Girls U12/13 Pella League and what a fantastic five weeks we have had.  We’ve seen some great games and it has been a joy watching the skills levels of all of the girls getting stronger each week. Congratulations to Team D on placing top of the League Table and to all of the ladies who took part. Thank you to the Coaches and parents who were there each week.  We know it’s not easy to be out in the evenings with homework, dinners and study to be organised.  A special thank you to the girls who stepped in to play with teams A and F each week.  It’s a fast game and for some of you to play two games in one evening was great. This coming Wednesday brings us to the playoffs. A nice way to round off our League would be if all the parents could stay on this week to watch and cheer on their young ladies in the playoffs.  Your support is greatly appreciated. Please have the girls arrive 10 minutes before their playing time so they can be warmed up. Gumshields are mandatory and the players should bring a drink of water. Any questions call Declan on 087 2063863 or Mary on 087 2347438.

Ladies U12/U13 Pella Week 4 Results

By Ann Cannon, PRO, Ladies Football   Wow, another three great games with some girls scoring their first goals of the campaign. Remember even though it’s a league there is no harm in taking a shot and missing, it’s only by trying that you are going to improve. Be brave and don’t be afraid to have a go!! As we head into the final week we have a new joint leader at the top of the league, team D only ahead of team B on goal difference. A losing point for team A and wins for Teams E and C mean that things are very tight for third and fourth placed play-offs. Team F deserve a special mention for their effort on Wednesday evening, these girls have put in great work on all four games and this was their best display yet. Next week is going to be very important, with three teams who could be in the 1st / 2nd place play offs and three teams with a great chance of being in the 3rd/4th place play off. Your team needs you next week please make every effort to be there.   Please have the girls arrive 10 minutes before their playing time so they can be warmed up. Gumshields are mandatory and the players should bring a drink of water. Any questions call Declan on 087 2063863 or Mary on 087 2347438.
