After a challenging, but successful, year on the pitch, Ballinrobe GAA Club is now turning its attention to planning for the future. We are delighted to present our Draft Strategic Plan 2021-2025 – and are looking for your feedback to help finalise it.
Building on the club’s Coaching Plan 2015-2020 – which led to the launch of Robe Rockets, an explosion in underage numbers and the promotion of ladies football on an equal footing with men’s – the Draft Strategic Plan 2021-2025 identifies what the club’s top priorities will be over the next five years.
First, watch this introductory video by Club Chairperson John Flannelly.
The recommendations in this draft plan summarise the detailed research, analysis, discussion and debate carried out by five dedicated focus groups and a steering committee over several months. The five key areas are:
- Coaching and Games Development – interview here with sub-committee Chairperson Colm Jennings
- Facilities and Development – interview here with sub-committee Chairperson Donal McCormack
- Club Structures and Administration – interview here with sub-committee Chairperson Declan O’Loughlin
- Finance and Fundraising – interview here with sub-committee Chairperson Paul McElarney
- Communication, PR and Community – interview here with Club PRO Gerry O’Malley
Interview here with Denise Horan, Chairperson of the Ballinrobe GAA Club Strategic Plan committee
Best practice from other clubs and sporting codes, ideas from business and community development, learnings from past plans, and insights from experts have all been gathered and assessed in the development of this draft plan. The outputs from these deliberations initially ran to over 150 individual recommendations, before being refined to the 25 recommendations presented here.
All members of the Ballinrobe community – GAA club members and non-members – are invited to share their feedback on the draft recommendations.
