Ladies U12/U13 Pella Week 4 Results

By Ann Cannon, PRO, Ladies Football   Wow, another three great games with some girls scoring their first goals of the campaign. Remember even though it’s a league there is no harm in taking a shot and missing, it’s only by trying that you are going to improve. Be brave and don’t be afraid to have a go!! As we head into the final week we have a new joint leader at the top of the league, team D only ahead of team B on goal difference. A losing point for team A and wins for Teams E and C mean that things are very tight for third and fourth placed play-offs. Team F deserve a special mention for their effort on Wednesday evening, these girls have put in great work on all four games and this was their best display yet. Next week is going to be very important, with three teams who could be in the 1st / 2nd place play offs and three teams with a great chance of being in the 3rd/4th place play off. Your team needs you next week please make every effort to be there.   Please have the girls arrive 10 minutes before their playing time so they can be warmed up. Gumshields are mandatory and the players should bring a drink of water. Any questions call Declan on 087 2063863 or Mary on 087 2347438.

U10 Boys Pella Results Week 2

By Annette Conway, PRO Robe Rockets Friday night saw another four tight, competitive games and as predicted, the standard has risen noticeably as the players get familiar with the game. We were treated to many instances of individual brilliance but most noticeable was the improvement in team play, with players passing and moving in support of each other. They truly are a fantastic bunch of talented, intelligent players. Next week sees the final round-robin pool games and it is still possible for every team to win their respective pool – just two points separate first and fourth in Pool 1, and all four teams in Pool 2 are level on 4 points. Remember, final pool placings after next week’s games decide the pairings for the play-off games. The winners of the play-off games will go on to contest the Cup and the losers will contest the Shield. League update by Des May, U10 Coach

Ladies U12/U13 Pella Week 2 Results

By Ann Cannon, PRO, Ladies Football Week two saw some more great games with some fantastic skills on show. Some of our teams have had late player withdrawals from their team and have struggled as a result. We hope to have replacements for these teams soon. Teams D and E have continued on their great start and top the table after week two.  Team B had their first win and team C suffered their first loss while team F got their first points. Team A was without two players last week and had one of those games when no matter how hard they tried, the ball would just not go in the goal. Well done to everyone.  Remember, teamwork, pass and move. Results Week 2 Team E:  6 pts      Team F:  3 pts Team B: 12 pts     Team A:  3 pts Team C:  4 pts      Team D:  9 pts Please have the girls arrive 10 minutes before their playing time so they can be warmed up. U10 Indoor Pella results week 1

By Annette Conway, PRO Robe Rockets Week 1 of the Boys U10 Pella league has set the scene for what is shaping up to be an extremely competitive league. Two of the four games were drawn and the remaining two games were close fought affairs with the largest margin being just two goals. On the first week’s showing, the abilities of the teams seem evenly matched and as a consequence every team should have a justifiable ambition to win the league outright. The standard will improve week on week as players get used to the game and grow in confidence so we can expect more goals and excitement in the weeks ahead. Three words of advice for the players – “Pass And Go”. In a league impossible to predict one thing is certain – the team that best learns to pass and move will be the team that wins. And finally, thanks to everyone for turning up early as a result of which we were able to maximise the playing time for all the games,  Des May, U10 Coach See tables below for League Table, this week’s fixtures and updated Team lists
