Ticket allocation for Mayo v Dublin

Dear Club Members We have just received correspondence from Mayo GAA that they are to fullfill 100% of club orders. These are to be processed by tomorrow and it is hoped that we will distribute the allocation tomorrow night at 9.30pm. Please ensure that, if you are receiving tickets, that you are there on time and have payment for all tickets sought. It should be noted that a certain percentage of the allocation is going to be terrace tickets, although this is to be less than last week and that we will have to incorporate these terrace tickets into the distribution also. Robe Rocket Emma will be the official Mayo flag bearer on Sunday

By Liam Horan,Webmaster Donal Vaughan will have a seven year-old neighbour alongside him when he runs onto Croke Park on Sunday. Robe Rocket Emma O’Shea is the winner of the eircom competition to be the Mayo flag-bearer on the field before the big game. Best of luck to Emma – we hope she has a great day. And in the highly unlikely event that you don’t know what a Robe Rocket is, go HERE Emma is a keen Ballinrobe and Mayo supporter. In fact, as this Facebook link HERE shows, she recently hid her love for the green and red on top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Like Donal Vaughan, she lives on Abbey Street, Ballinrobe, so the two of them might be able to chat about happenings on the street of late. Were you at the Panti Bliss show? What do you make of the free 30 minutes parking?

The late Darragh Doherty, Kilmaine

Ballinrobe GAA Club extends its deepest sympathies to the family of Darragh Doherty, Ballyhenry, Kilmaine, the former All-Ireland winning minor footballer, who was tragically killed in a car accident between Kilmaine and Ballinrobe last night (Sunday). Darragh (19) was among the attendance at Saturday evening’s South Mayo Junior B final between his club Kilmaine and Shrule-Glencorrib in Flanagan Park, Ballinrobe. He was his usual jovial and friendly self as he mingled with spectators from both clubs and our own members. The Doherty family are hugely respected in GAA circles throughout Mayo and further afield. Darragh was a past-pupil of Ballinrobe Community School and was one of the star attackers in the Mayo team which won the 2013 All-Ireland minor football title. All of us who knew him were intensely proud of his performances, particularly in Croke Park, where his true footballing talents shone through. His death casts a deep shadow over this region. In extending our sympathy to the Doherty family, we also remember his colleagues in Kilmaine GAA Club. We are conscious that no words of ours can soften the sense of despair that hangs over Kilmaine tonight. Darragh was their hero, the man who gave them reason to walk tall out of Croke Park just two short years ago, just like another great Kilmaine minor scoring star, Michael John Mullin, did 28 years previously. The Kilmaine club statement is contained HERE. May he rest in peace.
