UPDATE: Below is the rota – thanks to all who helped out, particularly Tony Walkin, Gerry O’Malley and Fergal O’Malley who went above and beyond the call of duty. The club is grateful to Helen O’Shea who recently nominated the club as the recipient of a quantity of Powerade sports bottles that she won in a competition. As a club catering for players from 5 to 45, we are always happy to receive equipment. Hydration is a crucial issue for all sports people, not least on the balmy summer days we are currently enjoying. So, thank you very much Helen – the bottles are already being put to good use.

Congratulations and many more years of happiness to Johnny and Josie Buckley, who celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday last. Johnny is a club stalwart who reaches into many areas of the club’s operations. We wish them many years of happiness.

Yesterday was a great Mayo day – and we are proud of the contribution of our man Donal Vaughan who played superbly in the victory over Donegal. Kenneth O’Malley’s injury has come at a very bad time for him personally but he is still a very important member of the Mayo panel. Alan Murphy was in the panel for the last year but was released two weeks ago. He has done his bit, too, in propelling Mayo to this level. Good luck to Mayo minors v Westmeath in Tullamore today. Ballinrobe’s Stephen Burke, who was impressive in the Connacht final win over Roscommon, is ruled out through injury. We wish him a speedy recovery.

Our U21s were beaten by Shrule-Glencorrib by 0-19 to 0-7 in the Brennan Cup (South Mayo U21 football championship). Our U16s drew with Crossmolina Deel Rovers 2-8 to 3-5 in the Mayo U16 championship 2.
