U10s Win

Our U10 team won the Mulroe Cup in Tourmakeady yesterday. We won it last year as well. Well done to all involved. Here’s report by Bord na nOg chairman John Sweeney Ballinrobe under 10s brought home the first piece of silverware for underage teams in Ballinrobe last Sunday with an impressive victory in the Mulroe Cup at Tourmakeady. Having disposed of the Neale in the semi final,  they finished in style by beating Tourmakeady in the final. In doing so our under 10s, led by captain for the day Jack Woods, retained the Padraic Mulroe cup and we at the club would like to thank the players and their families who attended the tournament and the organising committee at the Tourmakeady show for a job well done. Now all we need is for Mayo seniors to emulate them in September!!

Great Mayo day

Yesterday was a great Mayo day – and we are proud of the contribution of our man Donal Vaughan who played superbly in the victory over Donegal. Kenneth O’Malley’s injury has come at a very bad time for him personally but he is still a very important member of the Mayo panel. Alan Murphy was in the panel for the last year but was released two weeks ago. He has done his bit, too, in propelling Mayo to this level. Good luck to Mayo minors v Westmeath in Tullamore today. Ballinrobe’s Stephen Burke, who was impressive in the Connacht final win over Roscommon, is ruled out through injury. We wish him a speedy recovery.
